Managed IT Services in Washington, DC
CyberLynx runs IT and cybersecurity for Washington, DC organizations with 10 to 150 people: law firms, associations, professional services firms and nonprofits. Three commitments come with every plan. Your requests go to techs you know who already know your environment. Most issues are fixed in about 5 minutes. And 24/7 intrusion detection and response watches your devices, accounts and network through nights, weekends and holidays. Service is month-to-month, run from our office on Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, about 20 minutes from downtown DC.
Slow IT costs DC firms more than patience
At a law firm, a frozen laptop is unbilled time. At an association, it is a registration page that breaks the week before the annual meeting. At a nonprofit, it is a grant application stuck in a sync error hours before the deadline. The hourly cost is easy to estimate. The work that slips is not.
Most of that delay comes from how support is organized, not from the problem itself. A ticket waits in a queue until someone gets to it. Whoever gets to it has never seen your network, so your employee spends the first ten minutes describing the setup again. The most expensive problem is the one nobody reports: an attacker who logged in with a stolen password and is quietly reading email or moving through file shares, with no one watching closely enough to notice.
What's included
CyberLynx handles day-to-day support and security as one service:
- Help desk by phone, text, email or chat, staffed by the technicians assigned to your account
- 24/7 monitoring and patching for workstations, servers and network equipment
- Endpoint detection and response (EDR) plus 24/7 intrusion detection and response
- Backup and recovery, so a failed drive, a deleted folder or a ransomware attack does not mean lost work
- Microsoft 365 management: accounts, licenses, mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint and security settings
- Fractional CIO check-ins to plan budgets, hardware refreshes and security priorities
- Vendor management: we deal with your internet provider, phone system, copier company and line-of-business software vendors so your staff does not have to
Plan details and per-user prices are on our pricing page.
Security that catches intruders, not just alerts
Security tools are good at producing alerts. The harder part is having someone read them at 2 a.m. and act. Intrusion detection and response closes that gap. Software watches for signs that someone is inside who should not be: a login from an unfamiliar country, a laptop suddenly encrypting files, a new administrator account nobody requested. When something looks wrong, a security analyst reviews it. If the threat is real, it gets contained: the device isolated, the account locked, the attacker removed. Then we tell you what happened and what we changed.
We build this on SentinelOne, Huntress, Darktrace and Microsoft, covering endpoints, Microsoft 365 accounts and network traffic. For a law firm holding privileged client files or an association holding member payment data, response is what separates a Monday-morning incident report from a breach notification.
Why DC businesses switch to CyberLynx
- No call center. Requests go to the technicians assigned to your account, who already have your systems documented.
- Most issues fixed in about 5 minutes. That is time to fix the problem, not time to reach a person.
- No long-term contract. Month-to-month from day one.
- Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Useful if your organization tracks supplier diversity or works on federal contracts.
- Founded in 2011. We started as Your IT Department and have supported DC-area businesses under both names.
How support works in DC
Support is remote-first. Most IT problems can be fixed without anyone traveling, and a secure remote session is faster than waiting for a technician to cross town. Your staff reaches the help desk by phone, text, email or chat, and a technician connects to the affected computer and fixes the problem. Monitoring, patching and intrusion detection run around the clock without anyone in your office.
When a problem needs hands on hardware, a technician comes to you. That covers failed equipment, office moves and build-outs, network and Wi-Fi installs, and conference rooms that will not connect. We do not have a DC office. On-site visits are made from our Bethesda office on Wisconsin Avenue.
Areas we serve in and around Washington, DC
In the District, we work with offices downtown and in Penn Quarter, on Capitol Hill, in Georgetown, Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom, and in the newer buildings around Navy Yard and NoMa. In Maryland, we serve Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring and Rockville; our home base is covered on the IT support in Bethesda page. In Northern Virginia, we support firms in Arlington, McLean and Tysons. Many organizations have staff spread across all three jurisdictions plus home offices, and remote-first support treats them all the same way.

Frequently asked questions
How much do managed IT services cost in Washington, DC?
CyberLynx offers two plans. Standard starts at $97 per user per month and Premium starts at $116 per user per month, based on 100 users. Standard covers unlimited help desk, monitoring, patching and 24/7 intrusion detection and response. Premium adds vulnerability scanning, security awareness training and an annual security risk assessment. Your final price depends on user count, sites, servers and compliance needs. See our pricing page for details.
Do you require a long-term contract?
No. Every CyberLynx plan is month-to-month from the first day, with no multi-year agreement to sign. We would rather keep your business by fixing problems quickly and keeping intruders out than by locking you into a term. That means you can judge the service every month and decide whether it is still earning its place in your budget.
How fast do you fix support requests?
Most issues are fixed in about 5 minutes. That is the time from when an employee reaches out by phone, text, email or chat to when the problem is actually solved, not the time it takes to reach someone. Password resets, printing, Outlook and Teams problems, and access requests are typical. Larger problems, such as a failed server, take longer, and we keep you updated until they are resolved.
Do you support both Windows and Mac?
Yes. We manage Windows PCs and Macs side by side, including patching, security software and Microsoft 365 on both. That matters in offices where partners or executives use MacBooks and the rest of the staff runs Windows. Both platforms get the same monitoring and 24/7 intrusion detection and response, and the same technicians support both, so no one gets passed to a separate Mac specialist.
Can you work alongside our in-house IT person?
Yes. With co-managed IT, your in-house person keeps the systems and projects they know best, and we take on the rest: help desk overflow, patching, after-hours monitoring, security response and coverage during vacations or sick days. A single IT generalist cannot also watch for intrusions around the clock. We cover that gap and share our tools and documentation with them.
Do you come on-site in DC?
Yes, when a problem needs it. Support is remote-first because most issues get fixed faster that way. Hardware failures, office moves, build-outs and network installs get an in-person visit. We do not have an office in the District; our technicians travel from our Bethesda office on Wisconsin Avenue. Before you sign, we explain how on-site visits work under your plan.
