These businesses are easy targets because they often have limited resources, weaker defenses, and are more likely to pay ransomware attackers. For this reason, he cautions small MSPs to avoid using SMS authentication. SMS is vulnerable to SIM jacking, which deceives the user and makes it easier for a hacker to take control of a person's phone. Although Michael is a proponent of passkeys because they provide a better user experience, many disadvantages are associated with the system, such as high costs, syncing functionality, and the involvement of third-party vendors. Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is a more reliable platform that avoids the need for multifactor authentication.
